Bethenny Frankel makes high demands in divorce

Our Massachusetts readers may be familiar with the reality television series Real Housewives of New York and the cast members involved in it. As much as these women want to be seen as the everyday housewife, the show depicts that their lives are anything but ordinary. Being in the spotlight comes with consequences, one of which is the lack of privacy experienced by those in the limelight.

Real-housewife-turned-entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel is now finding that personal matters, such as her recent divorce from husband Jason Hoppy, are more of a public affair. All of Frankel's stipulations surrounding her divorce, including child support details, are out in the open.

Frankel, Skinny Girl liquor mogul and best-selling author, is worth a reported $25 to $55 million and making some pretty expensive demands in her divorce. Frankel says she just wants what is best for the couple's three-year-old daughter, and is making sure that happens through the divorce.

According to court documents filed by Frankel, she is requiring Hoppy provide medical, dental, optical, therapeutic and orthodontic expenses for herself and their daughter, child support retroactive from the date the filings took place, and life insurance that would make both she and her daughter the beneficiaries. Frankel also stated she wants exclusive occupancy to the couple's apartment, as well as their $5 million marital residence.

As of yet, Hoppy has not responded to Frankel's demands listed above, or to her push to obtain primary physical custody of their daughter. The couple does have a prenuptial agreement in place and reportedly want to work through this as amicably and as privately as possible.
